EVENT: Environmental protection projects in West Arsi Zone of Oromia Region through
United Nation Developmental Programme (UNDP) titled “Land Degradation and
Sustainable Forest Management in Argaddaa Shaaldoo kebele of Heban Arsi districts
/ Oromia Region”

• Objective of the project was to halt land degradation and improve the
  vegetation coverage and to protect the biodiversity loss in the project areas
• Through this project 1,376 people benefitted directly from the projects and,
• 5219 peoples benefited from the projects indirectly
• 7 cooperatives (5 horticulture producers, one dairy farmers and 2 women
  Credit and Saving Cooperatives) have been organized and legally registered
  with a total of 500 members.
